News from Vietnam: Petanque Champs planned for capital

The National Petanque Championship is scheduled to take place at the Quan Ngua Sport Palace in Ha Noi from March 23-30.
The event is expected to draw 12 delegations from HCM City, Ha Noi, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and Soc Trang, among others. Athletes will compete in nine events.
The contest is an occasion for the coaching staff to evaluate players before they travel to the Southeast Asian Games in Laos this December and the Asian Indoor Games in Viet Nam.
Soc Trang, who have three national squad members and have been coached by foreign experts, are championship favourites. ( Taken from VietNamNet)
